Automotive Mechanics ( William H Crouse , Donald Anglin)
The automotive industry has undergone tremendous changes over the past few years. The changes have primarily been on two accounts, the challenge of foreign automotive manufacturers and the influence of the Federal laws passed by the Congress governing automotive safety, fuel economy and air pollution. These factors have forced automotive manufactures across the world to develop new vehicles that are both light and fuel efficient. This has also led to manufacturers competing among themselves to adopt a number of innovations while manufacturing vehicles such as antilock braking systems (ABS), onboard diagnostics, distributorless ignition systems, supplemental restraint systems (air bags), and sequential port fuel injection.
